ELG Planning have secured planning approval for the erection of three retail units to the west of Batley Town Centre on behalf of Binks Developments Limited.
The proposals represent the final phase of the redevelopment of the former Blakeridge Mills site and will provide a terrace of three retail units with a total gross floor area of 3,948 sq.m plus an external garden centre. ELG Planning successfully demonstrated that there were no more central sites capable of accommodating the proposed development and that the scheme would not have an unacceptable impact on Batley Town Centre. The scheme will provide a wider range of local shopping facilities for residents of Batley and will finally secure the redevelopment of a longstanding vacant site within the Crossbank Batley Conservation Area.
